Looking for something to do? Are you interested in exploring the world of art while learning about who you are on the planet, your purpose for being here, making connections with your peers, learning about how to be an active member in your community (home, school and residence)? If so, Under 21 is the right place for you.
Under 21 Art Program is designed for you to explore the world of art and music. Our anytime camps helps you to unlock the inner artist by examining the possibilities of who you can become.
Anyone under the age of 21 is invited to come and participate in:
• Daily Field Trips (museums, parks, art studios, art shows, etc.)
• A wide range of art techniques
• Virtue Implementation (Storytelling, music, art, daily practices at home and in the community, peer relationships)
• Community Project
• One Act (Participants will display one conscious act of kindness each day)
• No Sugar stretch (No artificial sugar for the week)
Participants over the age of 21 who are interested in participating in this amazing program are invited to volunteer as a mentor. A mentor’s responsibility is to be a coach. Have you ever seen the movie Samuel L. Jackson Coach Carter? If not, please take a moment to do so. It is worth watching.
We are looking for mentors who are willing to be a guide, facilitator, a catalyst for mentees to discover his/her own direction, a questioner or scientist of information. As a mentor your role is to ask questions, listen and create real life scenarios that will foster critical thinking skills and personal growth development. As a mentor you will form a trusting relationship with your mentee. In this relationship you will incorporate all the virtues as a part of your daily conversations. You will also be assigned your own personal mentor as well. Conversations with your mentees are personal but not confidential. We are a community working together to solve situations on an individual basis. However, all lessons, revelations and insights are shared with the group as a part of our learning process.
